Three
days at THE HIDE (www.thehide.com)
in Hwange National Park, will always be remembered, winner in 13 of the last 17 years for “Lodge of the Year.” Enjoy the luxury and tranquillity of this magnificent camp, with its own hidden waterhole amongst the thirsty elephants! We may meet up with, and be briefed by, researchers from the Wild Dog and Lion projects, both of whom are beneficiaries of our funding. This is always a special time for our groups, as we experience the “behind the scenes” stories. |

many (optional) adventure activities,
including canoeing, walking with lions and helicopter flight. CHOBE NATIONAL PARK is home to massive herds of buffalos, elephants, hippos and their predators, lions, not to mention the plentiful birds. You have 2 days with a boat cruise and game drives.
Then OKAVANGO DELTA is just simply magical! Enjoy 3 days of boat trips on the waterways and fantastic game viewing in the MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE. Stay at the luxurious XAKANAXA LODGE (www.xakanaxa-camp.com).
And finally it’s MATUSADONA NATIONAL PARK at Steve Edwards’ lovely camp on its own little island, MUSANGO CAMP, for 3 nights. Relax, do a bit of fishing, maybe canoeing, sunset boat cruises, game drives and chat to Steve about his 10 years in the rhino wars (www.musangosafaricamp.com)

Here are
statements from some of the participants of
the 2011 SAVE FOUNDATION safari:
"I wanted to say a special thanks for the most amazing trip, it really was absolutely awesome. I can't begin to comprehend how much organisation it has taken to collate and co-ordinate the logistics of such a venture. You have managed to put up with 13-15 different personalities, keep us all organised, make sure we met deadlines and took care of any hitches along the way, sometimes when things were a bit strained. I consider we had exceptional value for money, the standard of accommodation was far better than what I envisaged not to mention the game viewing. It was not just the wonderful safari lodges (each one was special), the game viewing and birds but the smell of Africa each time I go back is quite intoxicating. The Hide was absolutely amazing, quite beautiful and all the wonderful people as well. I would unhesitatingly recommend your trips." Meg. "A big thank you to yourself and Maree for a really enjoyable and highly worthwhile trip. Dad and I both loved it, not only for the wildlife aspect and the valuable contribution that SAVE plays but also for putting such a great bunch of totally different people together. I didn't know whether I was sadder to leave Zim or our little group." Elizabeth. "Both Margaret and I had a great time and the wildlife was all we expected, and so much more" Katie.
